Geometry

The only purpose behind this weekend post is to show some geometry on a chart. Then we might be able to ask some questions.

ES E-Mini S&P 500 Index - Daily - Geometry

A few questions one might ask are these: 1) why are the waves in a fairly exact channel? 2) why is there a FLAT wave (.a, .b, .c) after the apparent diagonal wave a shown? 3) why does the downward wave after wave a retrace only, and actually slightly less than, 23.6%?, 4) how would a 23.6% wave be a second wave at that location? 5) if wave ii of a makes a deep pull-back, why doesn't the wave after b have any sign of a such a deep pull-back?, and 6) are leading diagonals more often a waves or are they 1 waves?

Often times, not always, it is C waves that have little retracement in them at all, and 'take off like a rocket'. The alternate remains i, ii, iii. One can not count waves that are not on the chart, yet.

Have a good weekend, and remain patient and flexible. Let's see if anyone is awake out there in Elliott land. Take care.

  1. Could you please explain how you see a corrective ABC wave that makes a new all time high?

    1. 'Possibly' as part of a contracting ending diagonal fifth wave. It might be wave (i) of such a wave.

    2. Ah...yes of course! Thank you. The ED would of course have abc zig zags for its sub-waves. It would be a picture perfect conclusion to the rally to see a contracting ED unfold as we know exactly how it will conclude. Thanks again!

Bonne année 2018 et beaucoup de réussite dans tes analyses
    Tu pense que l'on est

  3. joe,

i agree with your comments - specifically on the "deep pullback - where?". Although, if we are being "objective" and step back - i think we are seeing the similar behavior albeit, on a "bigger" time scale. The price action post Brexit and USA seems to have sealed the terminal pattern of an ending expanding diagonal in place.[see chart example] https://invst.ly/69xqu

    1. I would agree with your example chart, as I have post something similar in here, and on YouTube. Just be careful, because your B does not overlap it's A on all indexes, and needs to in order for B to be corrective to A.

  4. joe,

so, to be honest - i am seeing yet a larger degree version of same terminal ending expanding diagonal pattern as the chart i posted above................[gulp] ....you might want to sit down to see this one joe..... please see chart.............https://invst.ly/69y0y

  5. Joe, Don't u think (i) and (ii) were d and e of a 4th wave triangle ?

    1. No, because d would be higher than c.

    2. If I am not mistaken as per your several previous charts c would be where (0) of labelled wave is. From which it follows 'd' and 'e' were previously labeled at (i) and (ii) respectively. I am aware this may not be the subject of your current post.
